In May 2011, the province appointed a task force to look at the issue of bullying and cyberbullying in Nova Scotia.
The task force engaged the public through focus groups, online surveys, public forums, and presentations.
In March 2012 the task force submitted a report called Respectful and Responsible Relationships, There’s No App for That. The report contains 85 recommendations.
The task force’s report has guided the creation of the province’s Speak Up action plan to address bullying and cyberbullying behaviour.
The province acknowledges the tremendous input and energy of Nova Scotians who contributed to the work of the task force, as well as the effort and expertise of the task force members.
The task force’s work has been recognized nationally and internationally for how it has contributed to our understanding of bullying and cyberbullying.
